We consider each of our building projects to be a positive contribution to their community. However, our commitment to enriching Atlantic Canada doesn’t stop there. Lindsay Construction is proud to support many events and organizations that improve lives throughout the region. We also encourage our staff to lend their own energy and support to an array of community initiatives.
Our commitment to community goes beyond what we build.
Lindsay Construction is a founding partner of the Building Futures for Youth Program, an initiative of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia in conjunction with the Department of Education, NSCC and Apprenticeship Nova Scotia where high school students gain work experience in the industry during their summer break. Since its inception close to a decade ago, Lindsay has supported the program by hiring numerous students.
In addition, Lindsay funds two NSCC scholarships annually. One of the recipients of the scholarships, Stephen Anderson, is now a project coordinator on the Lindsay Construction team.
Lindsay Construction is a proud builder and supporter of the Dalhousie University IDEA (Innovation and Design in Engineering and Architecture) Building. In this building, you’ll find brightly lit innovation spaces, state-of-the-art prototyping workshops, and other cutting-edge facilities, all designed to generate new ideas and encourage more hands-on work and collaboration across disciplines and with private industry.
We are proud to support this transformative project with a gift of $150,000 that positions the Dalhousie University Sexton Campus as a leader in environmental sustainability.
This annual event was co-founded by Cory Bell in honour of his sister Heidi MacRae who passed away from cancer in 2009. For this event, participants of all ages come together on the St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails as walkers, runners and cyclists to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.
Now entering its sixth year, the event has raised over $650,000 for various Atlantic Canadian cancer charities, has drawn participation from over 1,000 people and has become an annual highlight for families across the region.http://iwk.convio.net/site/TR/TrailblazerforCancer/General?fr_id=1180&pg=entry
